# General layout of the planners

The various planners in freispace share a common layout and set of features that make it easy to navigate and use them effectively. This section provides an overview of the general layout and key features that are consistent across all planners.

1. **Type switch**: Change the planner type, e.g. from month to week or Gantt.
2. **Layout-dependent area**: Changes depending on the selected view. In the ∞ Continuous view, you can adjust the zoom level.
3. **Live users**: See who else is currently viewing the planner or Gantt chart. The little cloud symbol indicates whether you have a live connection.
4. **Views**: Views influence the resources shown as well as the colouring and information displayed.
5. **Timezone**: Change the timezone to view the planner in a different time context. New bookings will be created in the selected timezone.
6. **Today**: Jump back to today.
7. **Filter**: Filter either the bookings or the resources shown in the planner. (Change between resources and booking using the dropdown on the right of the field.)
8. **Display settings**: User settings to influence how the planner looks and behaves. Options change depending on planner type.
9. **Month overview**: A way to quickly jump to a specific date. Highlights the currently displayed date range.
10. **Collapse buttons**: Quickly collapse or expand all resource groups.
11. **Resource list**: The list of resources shown in the planner. Depending on the view, this can be all resources or a subset of them. Right-click on a resource for some options.

tip

The freispace planner is always **LIVE**, meaning all changes are immediately visible to all users viewing the same planner. This allows for seamless collaboration and coordination among team members.

The time header displays the time increments for the planner. The exact format and increments depend on the zoom level and planner type. For example, in the ∞ Continuous view, you might see hours when zoomed in and days or weeks when zoomed out.

Click on any date to quickly change planner types.

Below the time header, you see a basic **utilisation** statistic. This merely shows the percentage of bookings in comparison to the total available resources.
