Dashboards

Dashboards let you build your own overview of freispace data, tailored to what matters to you or your team. A dashboard is made up of widgets — each widget shows the result of a query as a table, chart or KPI number.

Creating a dashboard​

  1. Go to Analytics > Dashboards and click + Add New.
  2. Give your dashboard a name.
  3. Click + Add widget to add your first widget.

Depending on your freispace tier, you may be limited to a single, share dashboard or able to create as many dashboards as you like, for example one for yourself and separate ones to share with your team.

Adding a widget​

Each widget is built from a query written in Kusto Query Language (KQL) — the same query language used by Microsoft Fabric and Azure Data Explorer.

  1. Click + Add widget on your dashboard.
  2. Choose the data you want to query, e.g. bookings, invoices, quotes, staff, resources, suites or clients.
  3. Write your KQL query in the query editor. A live preview of the result is shown as you type.
  4. Choose a visualization type for the result:
    • Table — a detailed, row-level list
    • Number / KPI — a single, prominent value
    • Bar chart — compare values across categories
    • Line chart — show a trend over time
    • Donut chart — show proportions between categories
  5. Give the widget a title and save it.

New to KQL? Start with a simple query such as Bookings | count and build it up step by step. Every time you add a new line, the preview updates so you can see the effect immediately.

Arranging your dashboard​

Once you have added a few widgets, click Edit layout to drag them to reorder or resize them so the most important information stands out.
