# Custom fields & number sequences

**Team settings** > **Customization** holds two team-wide tools.

Add extra, structured fields to your **bookings, projects, rooms, staff and resources** (and more). Pick the entity tab, click **Add new**, and the field then appears when editing those items.

Custom fields can be **text, number, date, dropdown or checkbox**. They can be **required** or optional.

These fields also appear in the public REST API and are great for integrations with other systems.

## Number sequences[​](#number-sequences "Direct link to Number sequences")

Set the automatic numbering for projects, groups, clients, goods & services and documents such as invoices. Each type has a **format** (for example `P{NUMBER}` → *P100*) and a **next number**.
