# Booking settings & statuses

**Team settings** > **Bookings** controls how new bookings behave across your team.

* **Creating new bookings**: Set how new projects should behave by default.
* **Optional bookings**: Whether optional bookings are ignored in collision checks and cost reports by default.
* **Advanced billing integration**: Enable services as the basis for bookings, and the linking of [orders](https://docs.freispace.com/docs/billing.md). We disable these options by default to reduce visual clutter, as they are only relevant for some teams.

## Booking statuses[​](#booking-statuses "Direct link to Booking statuses")

Further down, **Booking statuses** let you define the statuses a booking can have (for example *Confirmed* or *1st Pencil*) and their colour. Statuses drive how bookings are labelled and coloured in the planner. We provide a sample set that can be extended or replaced with your own as needed.

There is no limit to the number of statuses you can create.

You may select a default status for new bookings (e.g. *Pencil*).
