# Firewall and antivirus settings

If users cannot access freispace or some features do not update correctly, a firewall, proxy, or antivirus web filter may be blocking the connection. Ask your IT administrator to check the following:

* Allow outbound HTTPS and secure WebSocket (WSS) connections over TCP port 443.
* Allow `freispace.com` and all its subdomains using `*.freispace.com`. Some filters do not include the root domain when a wildcard is used, so allow both entries.
* Ensure WebSocket connections are permitted. If HTTPS traffic is inspected, check that the inspection does not prevent WebSocket connections from being established.

If your network requires IP-address allowlisting, contact us for guidance rather than relying on a fixed IP address.

### Sophos[](#sophos "Direct link to Sophos")

Sophos has observed blocking access to freispace. If users on a Sophos-protected network have connection issues or encounter blank pages, check its web filtering and firewall rules and add the freispace domains above to the relevant allowlist.
